The bizarre string of strange letters first received by me and then by Liza and Gary’s DC Pizza Blog has continued. Local food blog HowChow, which in my opinion is the best food blog in the Baltimore area, has received a mysterious letter over the weekend.
This latest letter, signed by “Benny Basil” and containing a piece of a basil plant folded in the letter, can be seen on HowChow. This latest letter from “Mr. Basil” is interesting in that it mentions both Tommy the Tomato from my letter and Sourdough Sal from the letter received by Liza and Gary’s DC Pizza Blog. In addition, there is a hint of trash talking about both Baltimore and DC from “Mr. Basil”, as well as another mention of “settling the score”.
Even more interesting is the mention of “..the Queen’s favorite pie..” To this pizza geek, the Queen’s favorite pie has to point towards a certain Italian pizza made famous by a Genoan Queen, but it would help to have some more information, as in what effing score are these people talking about?
Come on people, gimme something to work with here. More details as we try to figure all this out.
